Razer convinced me I need a gaming laptop cooling pad

Always keen to come up with a new range of accessories for your gaming rig, Razer has introduced a new addition for gaming laptop owners looking to keep their on-the-go gaming devices cool as a cucumber. Razer Laptop Cooling Pad It does exactly what the name suggests, providing a resting area for your laptop with a large fan that actively keeps it cool. This isn’t a new idea, but Razer has added a few features that put this option ahead of most other options.

while best gaming laptop Designs need to be able to keep themselves really cool in most situations; in fact, they all benefit from external active cooling. Even if the fan is doing nothing more than cooling the laptop’s outer casing (perhaps your laptop doesn’t have vents for internal fans on the underside), it will still help remove heat more quickly. But, RazerThe new version of does much more.

The Razer Laptop Cooling Pad includes a 140mm fan that sucks air from underneath the angled pad and blows it across the underside of your laptop. Along with this active cooling, USB and power connections provide the pad with RGB lighting (how could Razer not provide it?) and a three-port USB hub. This makes it the ideal one-stop hub for your laptop; so you can simply drop it on the pad, plug in a USB port, and automatically connect up to three devices; but there is no obvious option to specifically connect your monitor. to your laptop.

Pretty common so far. But the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad combines two important little extras. For starters, there is a foam seal around the top of the pad. When your laptop is positioned correctly, this helps the pad actively push air into your laptop’s cooling system (assuming your laptop has fan vents on the underside), increasing its cooling ability. We have a slight concern about how this might interfere with some of the internal cooling fans — it’s generally not the best idea to force air from one fan to another — but adjusting the pad’s fan to increase airflow just slightly shouldn’t be a problem.

Moreover, this forced airflow is filtered by a removable dust filter located in front of the pad fan’s inlet. This will help reduce dust accumulation on your laptop during use at your desk, potentially extending the overall lifespan of your laptop and at least extending the time before you need to disassemble it to clean the fans. (but a blast of canned air often eliminates the worst of the dust buildup).

All told, the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad will undoubtedly create a system that legitimately runs cooler. Considering that overheating is a common limitation in laptop performance, you have the potential to get slightly better gaming performance by using a cooling pad like this.

The Razer Laptop Cooling Pad price is undeniably high: $149.99. However, ultra-budget cooling pads can be found for under $20, while more direct competitors (those with large single fans and foam gaskets) often sell for closer to $100.
