Grovetown asks residents with perishable meats to help feed the community

GROVETOWN, GA. (WJBF) – City of Grovetown officials continue to work to repair damage to Helene.

According to their Facebook page, they are asking community members to bring perishable meats to the Streets and Sanitation/Fleet Maintenance building at 1034 Newmantown Road.

They feed the community and crew until supplies run out.

The post states that city facilities, other than the emergency shelter in Liberty Park, will be closed until power is restored. This includes City Hall. Only essential personnel are asked to report for duties until power is restored.

There are no updates on power, but power crews have been seen in the area.

Please continue to be patient as we recover from this storm.
