Samsung announced that the Exynos 2400e chipset in the Galaxy S24 FE runs at a slightly lower clock speed than the standard Exynos 2400. In particular, the performance core of the Exynos 2400e is limited to 3.1 GHz. This is 100 MHz lower than the Exynos 2400’s 3.2 GHz maximum clock speed. According to the company, this is the only difference between the two chips. The basic hardware remains unchanged and the frequency is optimized specifically for the S24 FE model.

This minor adjustment in clock speed is aimed at improving thermal management within the device, especially since the S24 FE has a less advanced heat dissipation system compared to its siblings. Despite the reduced peak clock speed, most users are unlikely to detect any significant performance difference, as smartphone chips rarely reach their maximum clock speeds during daily use.

Additionally, Samsung has made progress in improving the power efficiency and stability of the Exynos 2400 chip. As a result, both the Exynos and Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S24 series offer similar performance levels in various scenarios. Despite this slight drop in clock speed, the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to deliver solid performance that can compete with more premium models in the series.
