The ISSF Junior World Championship 2024 Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun will take place in Las Palmas from 28 September to 6 October. Pull Range in Lima, Peru. India will participate in the competition with 61 athletes, ahead of the USA, which sent 40 shooters.

The Indian delegation will take part in multiple rifle, pistol and shotgun events as the competitions will be held in both Olympic and non-Olympic categories. It is worth noting that only shooters under the age of 21 can participate in the ISSF Junior World Championship.

Abhinav Shaw, Naamya Kapoor, Gautami Bhanot, Bhavtegh Singh Gill, Muffaddal Zahra Deesawala and Shardul Vihan are a few notable names to watch out for at the ISSF Junior World Championships 2024. Shaw and Bhanot won gold medals at last year’s tournament. 10 meter air rifle mixed team competition.

On the other hand, Kapoor is a former world champion in the 25m pistol competition, which was achieved in 2021, and also clinched the gold medal in the team competition in the same edition.

Meanwhile, Bhavtegh Singh Gill and Muffaddal Zahra claimed the mixed skeet team bronze medal at the 2022 Junior World Championships and are hoping to achieve similar success in 2024.

The Indian contingent will aim to surpass their previous medal collection won at the 2023 ISSF Junior World Championships held in Changwon, South Korea, where they will be ranked second in the standings with a total of 17 medals, including 5 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze. .
