A tractor trailer truck hit into a railroad trestle Friday morning in West Springfield.

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A tractor trailer truck hit a railroad trestle Friday morning in West Springfield.

Police reported this happened on River Street and Park Street.

The area was such down at times to traffic while crews worked to free the truck from the bridge.

This accident happened at a busy time with The Big E still underway and with drivers heading to the fairgrounds, the West Springfield Police Department asked travelers to seek alternate routes.

By 10:30 am police were reporting the road had been reopened.

We’re told the truck was towed from the scene.
