The United States takes on the world as the best golfers on the planet face off this weekend in a series of matches that will determine geographical bragging rights for the next two years.

President’s Cup The golf tournament is a biennial competition that pits the top 12 golfers from the United States against similar-sized international players from around the world, excluding Europe. (U.S. and European players compete against each other in a similar competition called the Ryder Cup in odd-numbered years.)

The competition began on Thursday, September 26, at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada, with five “four-ball” matches in which teams of two players play with their own balls, with the lowest score awarded per hole. On Friday, the President’s Cup moves to five “quadruple” matches where teams of two alternate shots on each hole. While four four-ball matches and four four-ball matches will be played on Saturday, 12 singles matches and one-on-one matches will be played on Sunday.

How and when can you watch the President’s Cup golf tournament?

Broadcast coverage of the President’s Cup is split between Golf Channel and its parent network NBC. Golf Channel airs the early rounds on Thursdays and Fridays, while NBC handles weekend coverage on Saturdays and Sundays.
