Shakib Al Hasan Shut Down Comparisons – Calls India ‘Unbeatable’, Pakistan ‘Inexperienced’ News24 –

Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan called India “invincible” on home soil and said Rohit Sharma’s team is miles ahead of Pakistan. Entering the India tour, Bangladesh had won the series for the first time in history by defeating Pakistan 2-0, and they had achieved their victory expectations against India with great hope. That hope quickly evaporated as the Indians returned home with a record-breaking 280 runs in the first Test in Chennai.

Pakistan Needs More Experience

“Pakistan is a relatively new team. I would say from experience, when you look at the matches they’ve played, when you look at our team and the matches we’ve played, we have more experience than them. And I think that’s a huge factor in Test cricket.” Shakib said in the pre-match press conference:

Shakib commented on the inexperience of the Pakistan Test side and noted that this cannot be said for India, at least in terms of their own country record. He recently announced that he will retire from T20I cricket and the Kanpur Test scheduled next could potentially signal the end of his red-ball career. ‘India have not gone out of mode for over a decade and have consistently played well at home,’ Shakib said. he said.

India’s Star Record

“If I talk about India, they are the number one team in the World Championship at the moment. They are probably unbeaten at home. I saw a statistic that they are unbeaten for 4000 days in India. That shows how good they are in India.

“They are doing well outside India too. No country coming to India has faced difficulties, we are no different there. But having said that, we need to play really well against them to show the fight we think we can put in.” Shakib added.

India have not lost a home Test series since 2012-13 when England edged them; They have now quickly won their 17th series, making it the longest such series. While Pakistan was struggling at home, after drawing with New Zealand, they lost to Bangladesh and then to England in a 3-0 series. Pakistan’s last Test match on home soil was against South Africa in the 2021-22 season.

India Continues to Remain ‘Unrivalled’ in the Home Field

“When you look at other countries, they will lose a game or two every now and then. But you don’t often see them lose in Test matches in India. So yes, I would say you are right.” Shakib told reporters when asked if the India tour was a big challenge for them.

“We won against them in the ODI series in Bangladesh, we came very close to winning a game against them in a Test match in Bangladesh. In Test cricket, we could not achieve the success we were looking for. We will have another opportunity tomorrow.
