New Toledo space designed to foster creativity and community connections

New Toledo space designed to foster creativity and community connections

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – There’s a new space downtown where you can get creative. It’s called Toledo Tech Loft.

at the corner of North Superior and Adams Streets. It is described as a place where innovation and collaboration come together.

The concept behind this new space is simple: to provide a hub for all kinds of creative activities for a wide range of businesses and organisations. Toledo Tech Loft is described as a place for education, events and collaboration.

“As we moved further away, we moved further away from the water cooler, co-worker chat, and this coworking space became popular across the country. Co-working is a space where people come together and work on their projects, their own business, in the same space. “But really, coworking is a sense of community,” said operations manager Chris Eischen.

Eischen is a successful entrepreneur who wants to help meet a need in the city. He and his wife are the driving forces behind this concept. Eischen said this is a place dedicated to innovation, community connections and growth across the board.

“A thriving Toledo, that’s really what I’m looking for and helping our downtown grow,” Eischen said.

The building is owned by local developer Dave Ball. Eischen said Ball initially created space for Bitwise, a California-based company that trains people to work in the tech industry. However, after Bitwise announced its bankruptcy, the space remained empty. A chance meeting between Eischen and Ball got things going, and the developer offered space for the Toledo Tech Loft.

“Steel sharpens steel, right? That’s why we must work together to raise each other’s level. That’s what’s missing in the city, the collaborative piece. “Creating all the collaboration possible has been our number one goal,” Eischen said.

Being a part of Toledo Tech Loft is donation-based. And your business doesn’t have to be technology-centric. When it comes to paying for space, it’s a sliding scale.

“You pay what you can; so if you are a small business and just starting out and don’t have a lot of money to pay for a coworking space, you can still come and be a part of it. Build a community and grow your business. As your business grows, you can increase your donation,” Eischen said.

Toledo Tech Loft’s soft opening took place this summer, with its official opening on November 1. But there are already many events going on, from training and workshops to office space rentals and networking events.

Eischen is proud of the creative space he helped create.

“I think it’s nice when people come and feel accepted and part of something because we’re new, they’re laying the foundations of something new, so there’s an excitement behind that as well. “It’s always fun to be on the cutting edge of something,” Eischen said.

One of the other things that happens here is something called Loft Talk. Every Thursday there is a different speaker. You can also rent space for events such as meetings and events. And there’s a campaign going on called Raise the Roof where you can help support this project.
