Ford’s BlueCruise 1.4 update lets you keep your hands off the steering wheel for much longer

Ford launches New version of BlueCruise hands-free driving softwareVersion 1.4 claims to let you keep your hands off the steering wheel for twice as long. In fact, the company tells us that it can run for an average of five times longer than last year’s version 1.2, and twice as long as the more recently released version 1.3. The company does not specify exactly how long on average a vehicle can be driven using BlueCruise.

The improvements come thanks to new “motion controller” software that Ford says allows your BlueCruise-equipped vehicle to be better centered in its lane, as well as improvements to deal with different weather conditions, tight bends, narrow lanes and reflections from the sun.

BlueCruise 1.4 will initially ship with the new 2025 Ford F-150 and 2025 Lincoln Navigator, and will also come as an over-the-air (OTA) software update “for select future vehicle lines.” PR representative Whitney Pineda said Ford has not confirmed which vehicles will receive the OTA update Verge.
