ESPN announced Wednesday’s first-round playoff game between the Fever and Connecticut Sun had a Nielsen viewership rating of 2.5 million and peaked at 3.4 million viewers. This made it the highest-rated WNBA game on cable in league history.

It’s no surprise, as Clark’s team with the Iowa Hawkeyes determined rating records in college before the 2024 WNBA draft, where she was selected No. 1 overall. set records.

Despite all the attention, Indiana lost in the first round in two games. Clark did his best in Game 2 against the Sun, finishing with 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, one steal and one block on 10-of-23 shooting.

However, Marina Mabrey’s three-pointer in the last minute increased Connecticut’s lead to four and the home team never looked back. She finished the match with 17 points and 6 assists, while Alyssa Thomas had a double-double with 19 points, 13 assists and 5 rebounds.

Even though the season didn’t end the way they wanted, the Fever’s future remains bright, thanks in large part to Clark’s presence.

And there will definitely be a lot of people watching the second season.
