Rivals Series Releases New Trailer

Hulu releases new trailer for eight-episode series Competitors Based on the famous novel by Dame Jilly Cooper and produced by ITV Studios’ Happy Prince, the series will premiere on Hulu in the US on 18 October 2024.

Set against the backdrop of the drama, excess and shocking antics of the social elite of 1980s England as they try to seize power, Competitors In 1986, he dives into the cutthroat world of independent television.

TV series stars Alex Hassel (The Tragedy of Macbeth, Children) as the handsome former Olympian, Member of Parliament and dangerously charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black, David Tennant (Doctor Who, Good Signs) as Lord Tony Baddingham and Aiden Turner (Poldark, Suspicious) stars as Declan O’Hara.

Nafessa Williams (Black Lighting, Whitney Houston: I Want To Dance With Someone) stars Cameron Cook, Katherine Parkinson (People, here we go) plays Lizzie Vereker and Bella MacLean (Spring Awakening, Sexual Education) portrays Taggie O’Hara.

The Competitors The series also stars Emily Atack, Catriona Chandler, Oliver Chris, Danny Dyer, Rufus Jones, Lisa McGrillis, Luke Pasqualino, Claire Rushbrook and Victoria Smurfit.

Dominic Treadwell-Collins and Laura Wade are writing the series alongside a team of series writers including Sophie Goodhart (Baby, Sexual Education), Marek Horn (Wild Swimming, Octopus), Mimi Hare and Clare Naylor (Accidental Husband), Courage Aiyegbayo (Dump Area, East Ends), and Kefi Chadwick (Looted, Avoidance).

Tray Agyeman is the shadow writer in episode 6 and Sorcha Kurien Walsh (Pink Pill) is the staff writer in the room. The Casting Director is Kelly Valentine Hendry (Bridgerton, The Last Kingdom, Chaos).

The lead director is BAFTA-nominated Elliot Hegarty (Ted Lasso, Cheaters, To try), who also produces episodes 1-4. Eliza Mellor (Midwich Cuckoos, Behind Your Eyes, Poldark) He works as a TV Series Producer.
