‘Nickel Boys’ Director RaMell Ross Signs with WME

SPECIAL: After starting his career as a story director, Nickel Kids After premiering to rave reviews at this year’s Telluride Film Festival, Oscar-nominated writer-director and acclaimed visual artist RaMell Ross WME and Jerome Duboz of Ithaka Media for representation. The film is also set to open the New York Film Festival and will also screen at the London Film Festival in October.

The film, which he co-wrote with Joslyn Barnes, is based on Colson Whitehead’s 2020 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. Produced by Plan B and Anonymous Content, the film stars Daveed Diggs, Aunjanue Ellis, Ethan Herisse, Fred Hechinger and Hamish Linklater. The film will be released theatrically on October 25 for MGM-Orion.

Ross is best known for his documentary Hale District This Morning, This EveningNominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2019.

Ross is a talented artist and photographer who teaches visual arts at Brown University as well as filmmaking. His work has been exhibited and collected in major institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art and the Institute of Contemporary Art, London.
