Nebraska softball team announces Big Ten schedule

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics) – The Nebraska softball team announced its Big Ten schedule on Tuesday. The Big Red’s conference schedule includes a total of 22 games across eight series. The Huskers will host four conference opponents and travel to four.

Three of NU’s Big Ten opponents have qualified for the NCAA tournament in 2024 — Northwestern, Indiana and Washington. In addition to those three opponents, Nebraska will face Ohio State, Minnesota, Purdue, Iowa and Maryland in Big Ten play.

Nebraska will open conference play with a two-game conference series at Ohio State from March 14-16, and the teams agreed to play a third game that weekend that will not count toward conference standings.

The Huskers will then open Big Ten homestands against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Bowlin Stadium on March 21-23. Friday’s game will begin at 5 p.m. CT, Saturday’s first tee time will begin at 1 p.m. CT and Sunday’s finale will begin at 12 p.m. CT. NU will then host Purdue for games on March 28, 29 and 30.

The Huskers will face the Hawkeyes in Iowa City, Iowa, from April 4-6 and will face Northwestern in Evanston, Ill., from April 11-13.

Nebraska will play its only two-game series of the year against Indiana on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19, followed by Washington in Seattle on April 25-27.

The Big Red will close out conference play with a home series against Maryland from May 2-4.

The 2025 Big Ten Tournament will be held May 7-11 and hosted by Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana.

This past season, the Big Red broke numerous attendance records, including hosting all five of the top five crowds in program history. The largest crowd of 2,691 came when the Huskers faced Northwestern on April 27. The Big Red had a 30-23 overall record and a 12-9 conference record.

March 14-16 – Ohio State – Columbus, Ohio (3-game series but only 2 games count towards Big Ten standings)
March 21-23 – vs. Minnesota – Bowlin Stadium
March 28-30 – vs. Purdue – Bowlin Stadium
April 4-6 – In Iowa – Iowa City, Iowa
April 11-13 – Northwestern – Evanston, Ill.
April 18-19 – vs. Indiana – Bowlin Stadium (2-game series)
