Sonic the Hedgehog teams up with the Justice League for a comic book series that transforms Sonic into the Flash, Shadow into Batman, and more

After a while short trailer According to information shared at DC’s recent Batman Day, it’s now official – the Justice League is teaming up with Sonic the Hedgehog and friends for a crossover adventure that will see Sonic, Shadow, Tails and more take on the roles of characters including the Flash, Batman and Cyborg.

The partnership was officially announced Sonic Central’s September 24 episodewith an interview with host Tiffany Smith Sega Americas senior vice president Ivo Gerscovich to get the details on the upcoming DC X Sonic mash-up. The interview starts around 4:15 p.m.

The five-issue limited series, set to release in March 2025, will be written by Ian Flynn, who has written over 100 issues of the official Sonic the Hedgehog comic. No artists have been revealed, but official designs for the characters were shown in the video.

“We’re going to start with comics. That’s going to start in March 2025, and we’re going to put out one issue a month,” Gerscovich says. “In addition to the five comics that we talked about for March 2025, we’re also going to do a collected edition of those comics, and there’s going to be merchandise like apparel, accessories, toys, collectibles, and that’s all coming in the fall of 2025.”

But the partnership won’t stop there; Gerscovich also revealed that more DC X Sonic mashups are coming in 2026.

“We will continue to celebrate Sonic and DC through 2026,” he says. “We’re just getting started.”

DC X Sonic is due out in March 2025.
