Northern Nevada Red Cross thanks community for support during Davis Fire

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Northern Nevada Red Cross thanks the community for the support during the Davis Fire.

Red Cross volunteers took part in evacuation shelters following the fire that started on September 7.

“Our volunteers are trained and experienced in responding to these types of disasters, but the community response to our efforts has been truly uplifting,” said Tiandra Rushing, executive director of the American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter.

Residents are said to frequently visit the facilities to support the Red Crescent by volunteering or making donations.

“This disaster has affected many, but even those not directly affected have shown a great number of individuals and businesses willing to help the Red Cross. The generosity and humanitarian spirit of the community has been remarkable,” Rushing added.
