HAPPY MARRIAGE Season 2 Returns in January 2025; New Teaser Trailer and Key Visual Released

Netflix announces romantic anime series to air My Happy Marriage will be back in January of next year. Get ready for the hit series to return with a new trailer and key visual.

My Happy Marriage It was one of Netflix’s biggest anime series to date, and now the streaming service is gearing up for its return next year. Netflix Anime has announced that Season 2 will be released in January 2025.

Based on the Japanese light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka. My Happy Marriage is a romance anime set in the supernatural world of spirits and magic. The story follows the unexpected love between Miyo Saimori, a young woman who marries a commander who is considered cold-hearted, named Kiyoka Kudou.

Yen Press, which published the English version of the light novels, describes the novels as follows:

Born talentless into a noble family famous for their supernatural abilities, Miyo Saimori is forced into servitude by her abusive stepmother. But when Miyo finally reaches marriageable age, her hopes of being swept away to a better life are dashed when she learns the identity of her betrothed: Kiyoka Kudou, a commander apparently so cold and cruel that her previous potential brides have run away from their engagements within three days. With no home to return to, Miyo accepts her fate and soon realizes that her pale and beautiful husband is far from the monster she expected. As they slowly open their hearts to each other, each realizes that the other may be their chance to find true love and happiness.

The anime series is produced by Kinema Citrus, directed by Takehiro Kubota, supervised and storyboarded by Takao Abo, written by Ami Sato, Takahito Onishi and Momoka Toyoda, character designed by Shoko Yasuda, and composed by Evan Call.

Kubota returns as co-director for Season 2 alongside Masayuki Kojima. Ami Sato serves as sole head writer, co-writing the script with Misato Hashiba, Fuka Ishii, and Momoka Toyoda.

The news of a January 2025 release came with a trailer and new key visual art. We also learned about some new cast members joining the cast for Season 2:

  • Tadakiyo Kudo Voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu, Kiyoka’s father and former head of the family
  • Fuyu Kudo Kiyoka’s mother is voiced by Kikuko Inoue
  • Naoshi Usui Voiced by Yuya Uchida, founder of the “Gifted Society” sect who plans to overthrow society using Miyo

“The second season of the anime series “My Happy Marriage”, based on the hit light novel series that has sold over 9 million copies, will air in January 2025.” Netflix wrote. “Along with the Season 2 trailer, a trailer and teaser images have also been released, offering a brief preview of the new season.”

My Happy Marriage Season 1 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and will also host season 2, which is set to release in January 2025.
