Polk County High School’s two bass fishing teams started the 2024-25 season with a solid showing on Lake Hartwell in Fair Play, South Carolina

Polk’s team of Banks Barber and Tanner Osborn finished ninth overall in the Palmetto Boat Center High School Tournament Trail event. The duo caught five fish totaling 12.34 pounds, the largest catch the Polk team has ever recorded on Lake Hartwell.

Polk’s second team of Konner Huskey and Wyatt Highsmith tied for 91st place in the race with more than 100 boats participating.

Polk teams will next take to the water in October, participating in a competition on Lake Russell.
