Dockers opens second store in India

The new Dockers store in Dehradun, Uttarakhand offers a range of clothing and accessories for both men and women

Bengaluru: California-based casual wear brand Dockers has opened its second retail store in India in Dehradun, technology-focused retailer Ace Turtle said in a press release on Monday.

Ace Turtle is the exclusive licensee of Dockers in India as well as international brands such as Lee, Wrangler, Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us.

“We are delighted to bring the globally acclaimed Dockers experience to fashion lovers in Dehradun with the opening of our exclusive retail store,” said Nitin Chhabra, CEO, Ace Turtle. “We will be opening more stores in different cities across India in the future.”

The new store offers a variety of clothing and accessories for both men and women.

“We are proud to expand Dockers’ presence in India by opening our second store in Dehradun. Our collaboration with Ace Turtle allows us to bring our signature blend of style, comfort and innovation to a new audience,” said Natalie MacLennan, CEO of Dockers.

Dockers first entered India in 2000 through its parent company Levi-Strauss, but the US-based brand later exited India in 2004. The semi-formal khaki brand re-entered the Indian market after a one-year hiatus in 2005, and exited again in 2009 as consumers shifted away from the khaki category towards denim wear and formal trousers made of blended fabrics.

Dockers re-entered India in May 2023 by partnering with Ace Turtle and opened its first retail store at Pacific Mall in Netaji Subhash Place, New Delhi in February this year.

The company currently plans to open five stores this year and aims to reach 20 stores in about two years, Ace Turtle co-founder Berry Singh told IndiaRetailing in an earlier interview. interaction.

Dockers can be purchased from retail stores, Shoppers Stop and Kapsons malls, as well as online platforms Amazon, Myntra and Ajio.
