LA Santos and Kira Balinger unbothered by comparisons to KathDen’s film

LA Santos and Kira Balinger don’t mind comparisons to “Maple Leaf Dreams” and “Hello, Love, Again,” starring Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo, both shot in Canada.

Scheduled to premiere on September 25, ‘Maple Leaf Dreams’ was completed last year, well before the film KathDen, which is set to be released in November. Although both films share a similar premise focusing on the lives of OFWs in Canada, ‘LA’ and ‘Kira’ do not suffer from these comparisons.

“I’m so happy for Sobrang, Alden and Ms. Kathryn and the Canadian Kami,” LA showed no signs of concern about the timing at its red carpet premiere last Friday.

He continued, “I am so happy na mabanggit lang na kasama sila at sobrang naman talaga po na makapunta sa bless Canada.”

The cast of ‘Maple Leaf Dreams’ filmed for two weeks and both LA and Kira admitted that they grew closer during the shoot. LA praised Kira’s dedication to her work and described her as a hard-working and dedicated actress.

“I am very lucky that I was given the chance to work alongside Ms. Kira. Talagang grabbed ‘yung dedication niya sa trabaho at sa pamilya na rin,” said LA. Sobrang gave up talaga as a chance to reach Kira. Saka grab siya, grab siyang leader lady saka alam ko na mas malayo pa ve mararant niya.

Directed by Benedict Mique, the film wasn’t without its challenges, including the freezing Canadian weather, but the team persevered and the positive feedback they received made the experience worthwhile.

Produced by Lonewolf Films in collaboration with JRB Creative Production and Star Magic, ‘Maple Leaf Dreams’ features veteran actors such as Snooky Serna and Joey Marquez, as well as other important names.
